In the early 70s government, with international assistance, started the development of infrastructure in the Atolls. The new health centre was built in 21st july 1969 and inaugurated by Atoll chief Mr. Moosa DiDi / Velidhooge. It consists with a 4 bedded ward, treatment room, consultation room and a small dispensary. The health centre runs with a single community health worker, a family health worker and with 2 administrative staff. Today this center functions as Dh. Atoll hospital which consists of 21 beds, with modern diagnostic faculties. The hospital begins with only one Gynecologist, Anesthetist and one medical officer. But now it is running with Pediatrician and 2 more MOs. Total staff is 85 which includes nurses, paramedics and many more administrative and support service staff.

General Administration

The administration department of the hospital is the leading department for tactical and strategic planning. Corresponding departments support this activity by providing vital statistical and analytical information which are necessary to sustain and improve the quality and efficiency of services provided in the hospital. The administration department supervises the activities of its sister departments, guiding them towards realizing strategic goals set based on them.
