OPD (Out Patient Department)
The OPD or Outpatient Department is Dhaal atoll hospital most important department. It deals with day to day patients, most of whom do not require admission for treatment. The OPD is normally open from 08:00AM till 6:00PM on all days except Friday and public holidays. However, if the given public holiday extends over 02 days, then OPD is open on the third holiday of the series. A public relations co-coordinator is present to guide patients and help them with any problem.
The heart of the OPD is the reception and the cash counter that makes consultation memos for appointments, provides information and directs enquiries.
The OPD is subdivided into the following specialties
- General Medicine
- Gynecology and Obstetrics
- Pediatrics
IPD (Inpatient Department)
The inpatient department handles all patients that require admission for treatment. The hospital has over 16 beds distributed over 02 wards, and the labor room. Wards have a nursing station where a doctor and a team of nurses are available around the clock. While specialist consultants visit their patients on a daily basis and are always available on call.
The inpatient department is supported by over 25 well trained staff and medical equipment and accessories of brands favoured by the market to provide patients with a sense of comfort and ease.
Emergency and Observation
Casualty department, which is the main activity centre of the hospital, is concerned with providing health care to patients who need both urgent and immediate medical attention. Access to this complex is provided via an inclined road leading up to a terraced portico. An attendant is available at the gate to receive the patients who need immediate medical attention.
Medical staffs are supported by an observation room, theatres, Laboratory, X-ray and a labour room provides the 24-hour casualty service. Senior medical staffs are available on call for the 24 hours.
DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
Laboratory
The laboratory has been planned for quality and efficiency, while retaining the human touch. An optimal mix of automation and manual methods has achieved this. Hematological investigations, for example blood cell counts, have been made simple, fast and accurate by computerized particle counters. The range of tests has been broadened to achieve self sufficiently in medical care. Histopathological investigations, micro-bacteriology and a virus laboratory have been introduced, contributing to this objective.
X- Ray
This Department use X-ray for producing pictures of the internal structure of the body and uses it for diagnosing diseases. Facilities for X-raying all parts of the body are available. Machines used are the latest in the field.
Ultra Sound Scaning
Ultrasound scan is available which is especially useful in pregnancy due to absence risks involved with ionizing radiation.
Transport
Like all hospitals, transportation of patients plays a vital part in health care. Our transport section offers ambulance services to patients on request, making sure that the patient arrives at the hospital as fast and safely as possible.
